Will switching to high-performance PTFE-membrane filter bags fix chronic clogging on its own?

Not by itself. A PTFE membrane gives a smooth surface that releases dust well and helps pulse cleaning, and it suits fine or high-temperature dust — but media is only one part of the system. Process-specific problems such as oily or hydrocarbon-laden dust, or spark risk, still need matching controls: a spark arrestor, a continuous pre-coat, clean dry compressed air, and proactive valve/diaphragm maintenance. Upgrade the media and the process controls together, not the media alone.
