What are the warning signs that a pulse valve needs maintenance, and how should valves be serviced?

A hiss usually means a leaking diaphragm; a weak "pop" instead of a sharp snap means the valve isn't delivering a full blast. Diaphragms and solenoids are wear parts — stock spares, replace them proactively, and rebuild on an annual cadence (sooner under heavy duty).

How can I tell whether a pulse valve is firing but not actually cleaning the bags?

Don't judge by sound alone — a valve can pop yet still under-deliver. After each pulse, check three things: whether the differential pressure on that row actually drops, how quickly the air-receiver tank recovers pressure between pulses, and whether every valve fires with the same intensity. A valve noticeably weaker than its neighbours, a tank that cannot recover, or a row whose DP will not fall points to a leaking diaphragm, low blow pressure or a partly blocked valve or blow pipe.

What is Xiechang’s standard pulse-valve diaphragm made of?

A molded synthetic-rubber diaphragm built on rubber-coated fabric: a woven reinforcement layer carries the mechanical load while the NBR (nitrile) coating seals. It is offered in a domestic compound and a premium German Continental® compound; the temperature ranges of both grades are in the parameters table on this page.

What is an anti-wicking pulse-valve diaphragm, and when does it matter?

Anti-wicking diaphragm fabric is treated so moisture and oil cannot creep (wick) along the reinforcement threads inside the material. If your compressed air runs wet or oily, wicking slowly delaminates an ordinary diaphragm from within — an anti-wicking fabric resists this failure mode while the air-quality problem is being fixed.

Match the diaphragm to the coldest and hottest conditions it will actually see. The standard NBR diaphragm covers everyday baghouse service; the Continental® (Germany) premium compound extends the low-temperature end for cold climates; the FKM (Viton) diaphragm is for hot flue-gas service.
