Applications

When should you use a pre-coat, and how does it relate to pulse cleaning?

Pre-coat (perlite or crushed limestone) is blown into the duct ahead of the baghouse to coat the filters and stop sticky fumes bonding to the fibers. With sticky dusts, pulse energy alone can't do the job — especially if the air isn't dry — so a continuous pre-coat protects the bags.
